Making a Splash!
As we wrap up the school year each year, we take our graduating sixth graders on a trip to the water park. Despite the water park being located in our neighborhood, the majority of the students have never been. The cost to enter the water park is $10 per person, and for many of the families in our area that is considered an unnecessary expense.
This year we took six students to the water park and they didn’t stop running, swimming, splashing, and playing the entire time we were there! When the time came to leave, they begged to stay just a bit longer. It is always such a joy to watch our students get to be kids for a bit. We would say the day was a success!
We want to say THANK YOU to everyone who has given not only to taking our students to the water park, but for truck repairs, plane tickets, Dia del Niño, building materials, scholarships, and art materials this year! We could not do what we do here in Guatemala without you!

We are also excited to be celebrating 10 YEARS IN MINISTRY and will be holding a CELEBRATION at New Life Church- Kempsville on Sun. Nov. 9th at 1pm. It will be a time of fellowship, testimonies, and prayer to celebrate God’s goodness over the past 10 years in Guatemala. Light refreshments will be served.
THE LAND PROJECT UPDATE!!

As of October 17, 2024 we have a perimeter wall on the property! We are now focusing on finishing work on some of the sections of the wall, constructing the cabin which will be our home, and constructing a screened-in gazebo that will be a classroom space for our students. ​

After getting a roof installed on the cabin in May, we’ve finished the east facing wall on the cabin, filled the spaces between the columns and window frames with rock and mortar, and worked on getting the floor leveled and ready for cement. We’ve also been putting in some extra support columns along the wall which means digging lots of holes and sometimes pulling out giant SURPRISES (rocks)!
